  • Tim's Last Words
A dinner out with couple friends ends a bit early when Tim's partner spews out a mysterious glob made of squid beaks from his stomach and dies. Tim impulsively takes the glob, but doesn't really know what to do with it. Much like many of us are not sure how to handle the grief we accumulate over time. A comedy about loss and homosexuals. Semifinalist for the 2021 Bay Area Playwrights Festival.
  • The Overbooked Hotel Room
When 7 Strangers accidentally get keys to a single hotel room, will everything end in chaos, or an orgy? I started writing this play to explore the formation of a community and an investigation of empathy in a selfish world.

Mona Barnes and Terry Dean are on a momentous journey with an important mission: Tour the world the bicycle and bring humanity together with the power of theater. Both accomplished actors from Victoria, Canada the two believe fiercely in the importance of their artistic craft and its ability to send a powerful message. Their show, Great Moments In Human Achievement, attempts to reveal the interconnectedness of Humanity through its wide array of innovations and successes. It is usually well received. This is their passion, and Mona and Terry are very committed to delivering the most solid, professional theatrical experience they possibly can.

But our spirited heroes are faced with numerous obstacles to achieving their goal: technical limitations of their performance venues, unruly audiences, bad writing, broken bicycles, difficult terrain, blisters and back pain, the lack of laundry facilities or occasionally place to sleep and, of course, the challenge of being in close proximity, for many many many many days.

But the greatest challenge to their mission is existential, a growing feeling of doubt and questioning: Why are they doing this? Why have they chosen to do what they do? Does it have impact? Does anybody care? Is their life's work worth the effort or should they give up? As their tour grinds forward the strain and questions only mount as they reckon with the scope and significance of their own lives...What will Mona and Terry's Great Moment be?

A House Tour of the Infamous Porter Family Mansion with Tour Guide Weston Ludlow Londonderry is a one man play in the form of a surreal and occasionally unreal journey through the former home of a tremendously wealthy and eccentric couple, Hubert and Clarissa Porter. Audiences will be guided through an expansive mansion/compound (imagined in a theatre space), a structure that physically tells the story of the absurdly wealthy couple's journey towards eccentricity, insanity, and sudden mysterious isolation from the outer world.

Fall Springs is a semi-charming landlocked cash-strapped town that sits directly on top of America's largest reserve of cosmetic Essential Oils. And it has big dreams. But at what cost?

With increased oil extraction and new fracking techniques being recklessly implemented, the ground beneath Fall Springs is beginning to crumble. Streets are cracking and buckling. Road-signs, boulders, and the occasional bartender are being swallowed into the ground. And thatÕs just the beginning.

Only Eloise Bradley, nerdy teenage existential wallflower geology-buff daughter of single parent Mayor Robert Bradley seems to notice that a great catastrophe is imminent.

But will she be able to persuade her father and fellow townsfolk of the environmental dangers and escape town before it's too late?

    Of course not.

Dramatic action sequences, parent/child angst, lost limbs, found souls, and a rocking, driving, passionate hook-filled score, Fall Springs takes the best of musical theatre and disaster films to forge a hilarious and heartfelt musical comedy about the consequences of pushing Nature too far and what happens when our routine lives become interrupted and we're forced to sacrifice to save what we love.

"I WANT TO USE THIS CROWN TO CHANGE THE WORLD! If I can just change one life, one little insignificant life, I think it will justify the beauty that God has given me.

Thank you all! Thank you for loving me so much

So ends the victory speech of 17-year old Tracey Ackhart upon her coronation as Miss Late Teen Colorado. The "loving," alas, soon ends. A day before the national pageant in Virginia Beach, Tracey disappears, hurling the rest of her family, whose lives until then had revolved around her, into disarray.

Grace and Ron, Tracey's parents, differ in the way they cope with the stress, and tension between them percolates. Grace longs for a luxurious life and hot coitus with Stan, the beauty trainer. Ron dreams of a simpler life in Cuba. Travis, Tracey's awkward, generally disliked younger brother, is conflicted. Unsure how to feel about a sister who ruthlessly tormented him, he attempts escape from the situation by exploring his sexuality in front of the television.

The ties of family begin to fray, flashbacks uncover mystery, and startling discoveries and revelations hurtle the entire family towards an emotional abyss. Darker memories emerge, nervous breakdowns erupt, the cause of TraceyÕs disappearance is uncovered, and a catharsis, of sorts, is reached.

Colorado is a sharp, dark comedy tinged with tragedy and sadness. It aims for the gut. Simultaneously satirical, witty, tender and unsettling, this is a play about disappointment American style, the dreams of a family, and the traps set to keep those dreams far, far away.

    Hello, seat!

It is with utmost, joyous, heightened pleasure that I shall be sitting upon you this early evening. I must confess, there is something about you, something that fills me with tingles and shivers I rarely, if ever, feel.

A multiplex movie theater somewhere in America, on any given night, showing any given Hollywood film. In attendance: a solitary man holding too many snacks, an unhappily married couple, two high school "dudes," co-opting hip hop culture, a pair of cynical office co-workers and a gothically dressed girl who is also possessed by a vengeful God. As showtime approaches, lives unravel. Crises erupt all over the theater as everyone until strangely, magically, something brings them together. Multiplex is a comedy about loneliness and a morality tale showing why movies should always start on schedule.
