TBT is celebrating playwrights and highlighting social, political, and environmental issues by transitioning our bi-annual open call for staged readings into a quarterly playwriting prize. Plays should be full-length (roughly 60+ minutes) and clearly connect to the thematic prompt.

This cycle, we are seeking plays that highlight inter-generational relationships. The topic is intentionally open -- it might mean plays about youthful rebellion against authority, adult children engaging with aging parents, unique perspectives on the millennial or gen-z vs. baby boomer mentality, or something else entirely! We want to hear your stories.

Submissions will be open through February 15, with an announcement in late March. The selected play's writer will receive a small cash prize, along with an endorsement from TBT on New Play Exchange (and/or for use on personal websites).
