An announcement plays. “Good morning, Happy Hollow. Today is a good day. Be whoever you want to be.” Happy Hollow is an afterlife where inhabitants can live out their wildest Earth fantasies. An excellent and fascinating non-linear piece that tackles themes of death, loss, identity, the afterlife, gun violence, and the frames we lay over our children. Larissa Marten's dialogue fades seamlessly between the naturalistic and the poetic. I found myself absolutely enthralled.
