Exciting and haunting all at once. This show teaches that awareness is never enough. Once we are made aware of a situation we must react, and this show reminds us to do so. Coming in to this show, I had certain values regarding respect, consent, and intent and thought that was enough. Sensitive Guys challenges me to not stop there, but to push harder, fight harder, not just nod along. Ultimately this show is teaching me how to be a better man.

A clever and eye-opening view on toxic masculinity and how talk can be cheap, but actions are what is needed to change the future. This is a fast-based comedy with a lot of heart that poses the questions we need to hear and shows us that sometimes the best actions are simply letting those affected have the chance to have the floor. A great piece.

Absolutely brilliant piece that explores rape culture, masculinity and male privilege, patriarchy, and fracturing and dissent within affinity groups. Kaufman's use of women and GNC folks double-cast to play people of various genders is a brilliant and potent device here. I loved how sharp humor was used to illuminate the frequent hypocrisy and danger of a certain brand of male wokeness, to identify its roots in firmly entrenched patriarchy, as well as illustrations of how to begin to dismantle and disrupt that dangerous status quo.

An incredibly important piece that should be produced on college campuses everywhere. Tackling assault and male privilege, a well-intentioned group starts defeating it's own purpose on account of confidentiality and brotherhood. Powerful and well done.

InterAct produced SENSITIVE GUYS in our 2017-18 Season, and presented SENSITIVE GUYS as part of our 2016 Core Playwrights Weekend. MJ's work is more relevant and urgent than ever: their smart, funny, deeply human examination of young people trying to unlearn the patriarchy strikes at the heart of what's corrupted our society--and what's necessary to fix it. We were thrilled to participate in the advancement of this piece.

Quick in its pace and undeniably sharp, SENSITIVE GUYS creates a multi-dimensional dialogue about assault and its aftermath. MJ Kaufman’s characters are funny, often at odds, and entirely unfiltered which makes for a hilarious and thought-provoking piece. #PlaywrightPlug

The progression of this play to an explosive curtain is perfect; hilarious, sharp, simple, filled with great roles that offer challenges - for readers, for performers, for audiences.

Both hilarious and biting, this play is brilliant and powerful in how it is in conversation with sexual assault and its aftermath.

What a smart, funny, provocative and topical new play. This is perfect for college campuses - and a wonderful stretch for an ensemble of women who play both female and male roles. In the "me, too" era, this is play that will resonate and promote a healthy and vital discussion on campus.

This is a terrific and important play and, yes, all college theatre departments should produce it.
