From out of the darkness springs a story of hope and love! A beautiful and heartwarming narrative with richly detailed characters who burst off the page with humor, drive, and compassion. A gem.

Aww, I enjoyed watching the initial spark from these two play out. A mix of old and new in a timeless story.

The spark of romance here is pure and filled with that anxious joy new love brings. Gitter's characters transcend the page thanks to expertly paced dialogue that manages to provide us with crucial world and character details without sacrificing the narrative. Mixing modern vernacular with 1933 Poland is a stroke of pure genius. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

What a gorgeous, sweet play. Set in the dark, it brings light and love. Even in the darkest times, love shines a light. Gitter shines a bright life and you dance with the couple in gratitude (just before you have blintzes).

In the middle of one of the darkest periods in modern history, this delightful play about love and immigration gives you something to smile about with plenty of warm fuzzies.

I listened to this on Playing On Air this morning. What a beautiful meet-cute, and engaging story. The modern language is a very smart choice, allowing an audience to feel a semblance of comfort and understanding of these characters. You often forget what time period they live in until you are forcibly reminded in an impactful way. A wonderful play! And incredibly performed!

I listened to a radio drama production of this play on Playing On Air, and it was really fun! Though the time period and actual history is very sad and dark, Gitter's choices and modernized language show a sweet, happy moment in time, made more poignant by the darkness looming over these characters. These characters would be great fun for actors - they're funny and feisty and generally a great time. Give it a read, a listen, or a production!

This is a wonderful play. A beautiful story of love, immigration and culture in a very dark period. Excellent work!
