Horror, coming-of-age, and queer identity story converge in a unique aesthetic unity in this funny, touching, and unique play. Meehan explores the intersection of faith and sexuality in a way that points out Catholicism's hypocrisies without unfairly indicting organized religion. The end, which could've been gloom and doom, was a hopeful resolution to Sarah and Gabe's parallel stories. I loved Sarah's final monologue questioning how to and whether or not she is able to worship, believe in, and speak to God using her own language. It puts into words something I've had trouble articulating about my identity and religion.

I love this teen exorcism play. It's at once touching and campy with a nuanced discussion of coming out in a religious community. Would be so fun to stage. Highly recommend!

A touching, nuanced portrayal of sexual awakenings, religious education, and faith - with plenty of teenage angst and pulpy horror to satisfy the genre crowd!
