Rereading it now was just as enthralling as the first time, and I fell in love all over again. Watching Allonda come into herself and her identity is a remarkable experience, and witnessing the moments of vulnerability and tenderness that each other character has is equally lovely. This is a truly magnificent play. ”

    “ We read this play as a reading series at my school and weeks later I'm still thinking about it. The writing is visceral and the characters so three dimensional. It was beautiful to hear these Teen characters in both joy and struggle. I was particularly moved by the play explored agency for these Teens characters. Folks need to be producing this today. ”

With every new scene Allond(R)a expands its margins to accommodate Allondra and her friends, whose dreams and personalities grow as large as kaiju. The same thing happens with Gina's text, a buffet of language and formatting choices that demand a passionate, red-blooded staging. This is a play as rich to read as it is to imagine, and if this world is just, we won't have to settle long for just Imagining it. ”

    “ God, I love plays with wrestling in them. However, instead of taking on the WWE system a la ‘The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity,’ Femia has chosen to use wrestling to mirror the tumultuous act of figuring out who you are as a young person. The characters are boisterous and so easy to love. The action clips along speedily, but it never feels rushed. And the final three pages threw me for a loop! Excellent work. ”
