Ren Dara Santiago welcomes you inside a family's home and then delicately, but swiftly exposes you to struggle and trauma. The siblings makes you laugh, but also break your heart as you witness the fragility of life through their constant fight for survival. This is a necessary work that needs more productions!

I feel so lucky to have seen a couple iterations of The Siblings Play, from a reading at MCC's PlayLabs to the recording of the Rattlestick production from earlier this year. The story it tells is painful, vital, and thought-provoking - and one I want the whole world to see, hear, and experience.

The play stays with you: the richness and specificity of Ren's language, and her command of dramatic structure in service of this story. The kids' survival tactics - the way they show up for, and fail, each other - ring so true. It's heartbreaking, beautiful, and should be widely produced.

Stunned. Absolutely stunned. This play is raw, real, it's burning with energy and passion. It's a play where the words practically leap from the pages and onto the stage. Ren Dara Santiago is an absolute force and this play is an achievement in its portrayals of dysfunction, class struggle, trauma, and love. It's a play that covers hot button issues and the culture of urban struggles without pontificating. A magnificent play, an absolute masterwork. I can't recommend this play enough.

An exploration on family love, what it means, what it gives and more importantly what it takes. A true revelation. Ren's work in this play is astonishing.

I truly fantastic play that looks at the relationship among siblings in such a unique way. It is poetic and so raw and intimate and has a conclusion that will leave audiences breathless and with so much to think about.

I cannot recommend this play highly enough; Ren's voice is powerful and she tells stories that need to be told. The relationships between these siblings and the humanity within the characters makes the story both specific and universal. Please read and produce this play!

I was with Ren at the Ojai Playwrights Conference and I was so charmed by this play about three siblings looking out for one another. Ren really captures the ways we make meaning through caretaking and how deep our need to care for other goes, often at the expense our own aspirations. The siblings compete to sacrifice for each other with surprising results. This is a lovely coming of age story about family and loyalty.
