The point of attack is just perfect and the action is at boiling point from beginning to end. Whatever side you're on when it comes to American police it will result in either empathy/understanding or zero empathy/understanding. Topical sketch that is fitting for any showcase on gun violence. It's a sketch, but it's not slight. It's sharp like a Mamet short.

Ricardo certainly doesn't shy away from tough topics. It's a very interesting vantage point in the aftermath of a tragedy that refuses to feed the readers any answers. Much more emotionally jarring than I would've originally guessed from the description.

If Mamet wrote a scene about the aftermath of a police shooting, it might feel like Soltero-Brown’s “Leave.” Sharp, crisp, staccato dialogue complements the confusion, panic, and uneasiness law enforcement must feel after making a life- changing, split-second, career-defining decision. It is, sadly, an important play for our time. Produce it, and let’s keep people talking about this.
