I listened to a reading of this on The Parsnip Ship, and I was thoroughly delighted by it. My director-brain was incredibly engaged with the theatricality of it, and I think it would be a really fun challenge for directors and violence designers alike. The unique structure, gorgeous characters, ridiculousness of professional wrestling (and Rogers' clear love for it) and all the warm fuzzy feelings make this a great read all around. It's sure to be a ton of fun to produce as well!

This play is awesome. It tells the story of a professional wrestler and actual wrestling on stage is integral to its theatricality. Someone please put this on!

Powerful, violent and ultimately a compelling celebration of speaking one's truth in a hostile and manipulative world. The setting is vividly theatrical and provides a unique perspective on the struggle to accept and reveal an authentic identity. As others have said, this would be a wonder in a full production!

A necessary play that explores the life and struggles a transgender person must face in a very unique and dynamic way. Fun, heartbreaking, and triumphant, Rogers killed it with this one.

There is so much excitement and life in this play! It would be incredible to see this fully realized, wrestling ring and all. THE LAST RING has some fantastic roles for women who are ready to get sweaty and rough on stage. Really well done.

THE LAST RING is a thoughtful play filled with lovely metaphors and badass women. What an exciting project for a creative team -- actresses would have an absolute blast with the intense choreographed fighting as well as the in-depth character development. Hopeful, vulnerable, loving.

This is a brilliant play which parallels professional wrestling with wrestling with ones' identity, that is full of fun, adventurous writing and honesty. I cannot recommend this play highly enough; it truly is one of the most unique pieces I've ever read and deserves to be seen on every stage in the world.
