Simplicity is sometimes the key to the most powerful writing. Soltero bestows on us one of the most haunting short plays I’ve read. I pause out of respect for his masterful tale.

Remarkable, gut-wrenching, poetic. This play says so much without saying anything at all. There is so much emotion, but there is none at the same time. What a horrifyingly accurate portrayal of what's happening in America--we feel so much about these terrible crimes, but we never do anything. We just repeat. Soltero-Brown is a voice for this generation and he understands people better than they understand themselves.

"Repeat." One of the most heart-wrenching stage directions in any play. Soltero-Brown lays bare the results of the gun culture in the U.S.A. The play's simplicity highlights what we and the characters are left with - grief. Again and again. On repeat. And when you read it repeatedly, it's hard not to cry.
