What is the price-tag on the American Dream? Is the American Experience a gold cage with matching handcuffs? “The “So-amazing”Murga Brothers” is a new dramedy by Award-winning playwright Emilio Williams. It tells a Latino story, and at the end of the day, a very universal story of moral dilemmas, corporate corruption, real estate transactions, dreams, secrets and lies. No, this is not another “tele-novela” from Univision, but a profound, funny and touching look at the American dream from the point of view of a middle-class Mexican-American family living in Chicago against the backdrop of 2006; a year of political and social turmoil with pro-immigrations rallies on the streets, an Iraq war spinning out of control and the impending burst of the housing bubble.

When Pep, the youngest brother Murga, announces he is leaving both his well-paid job and his wife, his oldest brother, Tony, must face his own demons at work, at home, and in his very secret and promiscuous love-life. Would he chose the side of freedom and revelry represented by Pep, and by the young and whimsical Liz, or will he do the “honorable thing” and side with his ambitious wife Natalia, and his gay, but very conventional, well-to-do brother, Jesse?
