The year is 1890. Grieving widow Clara O'Hare is haunted by the death of her late husband, Thomas. Desperate to leave the past behind her, she moves into a new home. But the peace she longs for is not to be hers. Woken in the middle of the night, she discovers the spirit of a young girl has a very important message. She turns to the previous owner for answers, but rather than reassurances, she is invited to a séance in a remote country home.

Around the table is the host, a blustering hunter named Lord Horace Oroberg; his son, a cad named Clifford; Clifford's fiancé, a shy young lady named Violet; Violet's overbearing mother Hilda Nero; a brazen, modern woman named Marguerite Matson; a skeptical scientist named Norman; and a dashing medium named Wesley Lowenherz.

When the lights go out and the guests find Hilda dead, it becomes a race against time before the murderer strikes again. Teaming together, Clara and Wesley discover that the ghost who has been following Clara is none other than Wesley's departed sister, Minnie.

One by one, the guests are killed by a cursed creature whose tomb beneath the house had been opened. When Wesley is threatened, Clara realizes her broken heart is healed and she wants to not just live, but thrive again.

Despite the thrills and chills, A Spirited Manor is an exploration of the grieving process, the monsters that must be faced, and the return to normalcy.

Laced with romance and paranormal suspense, A Spirited Manor is based upon the Gothic penny-dreadful novel written by Kate Danley under the same name (all rights retained, no encumbrances.) Over 55,000 copies are in circulation globally.
