Dandle House, a bed & breakfast inn on a remote island in the Caribbean, welcomes world weary guests ready to commit suicide – with the friendly assistance of innkeeper Dorothy Dandle. Preacher Earnest Thomson arrives to escape the pain of his lost faith only to be trailed by wife Lydia and meth-dealing boyfriend Bobby. The mystical nature of the house is revealed as the three guests, and their host, are challenged to a new view of life – and of death. Developed through Playwrights Arena at Arena Stage, The House Halfway adopts a comic tone reminiscent of Coward or Wilde, then takes surprising turns to ask our most fundamental questions.

The House Halfway is a finalist for the 2015 O'Neill Center Playwrights Conference.
