The title alone hooked me, and then the play itself wouldn't let me go. It's a great mix of absurdity because of the situation the characters are in and comedy with a dollop of heartache and facing mortality as well. It would be such a fun show to put on!

This brilliant play, which I saw twice at the 2019 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Play Festival, explores the gamut of emotions experienced by four characters on a tandem skydive. Each character reacts with varying levels of dread and exhilaration, based upon what they know and how they approach life. The characters, because of the sensory deprivation provided by the situation, are together yet alone. And there is a profound emotional impact at the core of this play. It is also completely hilarious. Hirsch is excellent at hooking his audience with laughter, then hitting them with existential dread. I loved it.

A clever short play that would be fun for both actors and audience.

What a roller coaster ride of a short play! It has incredible movement, force, the pacing is unbelievable, a total blast for actors, a director, and designers. I love plays that push the boundaries of what we think can live on stage, and Hirsch swings for the fences with this one. Also, not for nothing, it made me laugh and cry.

This play is a blast and a half. Electrifying, hilarious, and surprisingly tender, Hirsch expertly keeps you on the edge of your seat while his characters plummet toward the earth. You can feel the adrenaline coursing through each and every word, and by the end, you're ready to go out and do something crazy and life-affirming too. And, on top of all that, it has the coolest title ever!

An unexpected comedy that's heartfelt and funny, physical and theatrical, poetic and highly imaginative. If you hear anyone diss ten-minute plays as just simple entertainment, not as important as full-lengths, as nothing but forgettable skits, then let them read this incredible play by Hirsch.

A perfectly constructed short play that establishes stakes in a heartbeat and doesn't let the audience off the hook until it needs to. A great exploration of mortality, fear, love, and disease (and it's laugh-out-loud funny too!) that will make your heartbeat tick up a few clicks while the characters plummet to the surface of the earth.

A sensational read. I can only imagine this short play would also be sensational in production, too, as it would be so much fun for directors, actors, and audiences.

Hirsch reaches sky-high levels in developing character (not just one, but four!), utilizing visuals and action, and creating life-altering consequences in "A small breach in protocol at Big Rick's Rockin' Skydive Academy."

A highlight of the 2019 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival! Hilarious and bright, such a great concept, so well done! Hirsch's team executed the play beautifully, but ANY festival of tens would be lucky to have this one on their stage. It's accessible and warm, with touching relationships and lovely reveals. It's fun on its feet, and is a lovely read, too. A ten minute gem! Looking forward to reading more from this writer.
