Excellent insight into the world we live in as journalists and filmmakers fight to bring a better world as we cope with brutality and trauma. Well done.

LOVE this fabulously theatrical play about the ways in which we are all complicit in the bloodshed in the Middle East. Skillman skillfully provides the artists' point of view, the desire to expose the truth, and then she complicates this with reality (in particular the reality of media). A very moving story of love, trauma and loss that can touch all of us and help us to face how we continue to allow our country to foment and perpetuate heinous crimes for our comforts. Beautifully done!

A timely, thrilling piece that gives an unwavering look at how conflicts in the Middle East trickle down to American lives today. It is a deft exploration on how youthful ideologies yearn to create a better world, but invariably face high-stakes challenges. It also shows how media--in this case filmmaking--influences the narrative, and how the result may be searingly unexpected. A great play for an ensemble cast looking to dig into rich material.

Pulp Verite is an urgent and important piece about how our ideologies, just as much as grief, can blur reality. A riveting play that left me gasping.

This is a powerful play about what it means to be an artist and citizen in the twenty-first century. Compelling characters in their teens and early 20s offer strong roles for young actors. A thoughtful reflection on the problems of entertainment experience vs. aesthetic experience vs. real experience in our media-saturated world.

Pulp Verite is a compelling, harrowing story of grief, humanity and memory, and seamlessly weaves in the complex issue of Syria and our current politics to create a portrait of what humans try to do in the face of loss and trauma. This should be produced immediately.

Pulp Verite is a special play, very much of this exact moment in human history.

Pulp Verite is a masterpiece of theatrical work, combining a story about grief and loss through the eyes of a team of documentarians, it really is one of the most relevant pieces of theatre I've read and I'm eager to see it staged.

Ms. Skillman's play is heart-wrenching, topical, and complex. Her band of misfits struggle with the complicated narratives of the Syrian conflict and contemporary politics--just as they struggle with the complicated narratives of their own relationships. The most powerful question involves the legacy of trauma--how can we remember the moments in our lives that we would like most to forget? PULP VÉRITÉ is smart, lined with humor, and unafraid to hold us all accountable.
