“It’s a f**king compliment to call this family dysfunctional!” Kelly tells the audience. And why WOULDN’T she feel this way? Their home is stuffed with pet remains and Disney memorabilia. Her mom has not left the house for three months and is popping pills. Her dad is interested mostly in food, beer and bowling. She’s sure her grandpa’s ghost lives in the basement. Her younger sister is a super popular cheerleader. And last but not least, every person and animal in their household just had to have an Irish name that begins with a K. And when your last name is the same as your first name and you’re seventeen, it pushes you over the edge. No one wants to talk to you, let alone date you. You’re simply invisible. Something HAS to change. So she takes a vow – to speak to her family in the hated Beatle’s lyrics until something’s different.

They got their last pet’s ashes back today. It’s the night of her parent’s twentieth anniversary. Her mom’s obnoxious friend and her husband are there to celebrate. Who knew that the hubby would be young, cute and Beatles-loving? And that he was someone that would finally ‘get’ Kelly?

What was a celebration turns into too many drinks and too many words - hurtful ones that Kelly didn’t need to hear. Left alone, Kelly is beyond frustrated and confused. Until Jason returns for his phone. And for the first time in her life, Kelly might have a chance for the change she so desperately wants.
