"No Room For Wishing" is a one-person documentary play about how big picture politics affect our everyday lives, and what happens when people come together to try to force change. Compiled entirely from the exact words of people involved in and affected by the Occupy movement in Boston in the fall of 2011, "No Room For Wishing" is a complex, disturbing, and inspiring look at how human beings succeed and fail in building relationships, social structures, and governance. One actor portrays over thirty characters in this 90-minute up-close-and-personal encounter with our nation and ourselves that the Boston Globe called “absorbing… smart… impressive… an authentic slice of Boston history through the voices of those that made it happen.”

“
A phenomenal look at the human experience in the complex and often frightening political world we live in and that each of us can stand to make a difference! ”
No Room for Wishing is a solo show, to be performed by a single actor, of any age, race, or gender. The actor plays upwards of 30 distinct real-life characters, and should have a facility for dialects and physical character work. The play could also potentially be adapted into an ensemble piece.
