This ten-minute dramatic fantasy is a feel-good play.

"Broke/Fix" shows that people at horrible odds with one another still can come together when someone else is desperately in need of compassion. Joan and Jessi, Gina Femia's protagonists, can't communicate with one another while focusing on their own problems. But I love that they show their humanity in the presence of someone else in need. And by doing so, there is promise in their own re-connection.

"Broke/Fix"'s fantastic story, characters, and underlying emotions would appeal to audiences and theatre makers alike.

I've read this play a couple times and each time I discover something new. It's dark, funny, disturbing, and incredibly real. Femia is a fantastic writer and in BROKE/FIX has created three authentic characters that would be a joy for any actress to portray. Read-this-play-and-produce-this-play!

This play pulls in so many direction, and I love it. It's disturbing, disgusting, and delightful all at the same time. Not only does Femia leave a ton for actors to dig into, but she gives tremendous opportunity to designers and the director as well.

Oooooh this play is just so pretty. There's a humor underneath the necessary drama of this piece that lights up the characters and situation, making the drama feel even more immediate and intense. A really lovely example of magical realism done right. I love layering this magic on top of an alleyway next to a nightclub. There's so much to this short play, which would be a treat for an artistic team to collaborate on.

Nice parable that touches on friendship - interaction - possible death - myth and all sorts of goodies in just a few pages. Recommended and worth a read [and production].
