I just love Bohannon's voice. I am always so excited to read one of her plays because she is so funny, fresh, and youthful. This play is no exception to that rule--and even better yet, it's full of delightful geekdom references! I loved all the twists and turns in this play--and just when you think it might be a drama, it becomes a comedy again, and back and forth it goes. Two actors would love these characters--and I can easily see this being an audience favorite.

A fun look down memory lane! As someone that has unabashedly eaten up these books I absolutely understand these characters. Some of these one liners are zingers and made me laugh out loud. Bohannon also has a nice way of subtly introducing a twist. Looking forward to reading more of her work!

A clever riff on fan culture using two friends who debate their reading habits. If you started Harry Potter as a child and were an adult when the last book came out - but you still desperately needed to read it - you know these people. It's a coming of age tale with Harry Potter/Twilight and captures the nuances of these books as backdrops of a life. There's a lovely turn when you realize one of the characters is using the books as a gauge for his future. And the little surprise at the end - surprise!

Bohannon gets fan culture perfectly in this great ten-minute play that also grapples with growing up and friendship in a really fun way. ONCE UPON A LINE is funny and charming. Brings me back to the good ol' waiting for the next Harry Potter book to come out days!

So fun, so sweet. A quick peek into the inner worlds of two men who are ashamed of the media they enjoy consuming, this short play layers some serious material with a funny situation in a really lovely way. A treat for adult Harry Potter fans and those who love them.

Awesome! This play encapsulates the crux of the Potterhead Paradox: Foregoing my cape and wand as a step towards adulthood? Fa! Bohannon's crackling dialogue and cinematic action had me chortling from the landing page! She sends up popular fiction and finds a relevant, timeless subject to explore underneath. Funny, irreverent and sharp - and plenty for any Potter fan. (And who isn't??)

I used to be a cashier at Barnes & Noble, I've worked during midnight sales of the latest installement of Harry Potter. So I've seen men like the two in this play - kidults in fandom costume lining up. This play makes you wonder about all those men in costumes...and their near-future responsibilities at home, raising kids... Silly fun, but it was surprisingly serious. I would love to see these men in another scene later on in life.

We line up for the newest phone. We camp out for the promise of holiday gift deals. And in Bohannon’s charming short, two grown men are squatting for their latest children’s-lit fix. We’re a country of consumers, and these two men are consumed. But before you cast aspersions on their drug of choice, don’t forget that we all have a spot in our hearts (or room on a shelf somewhere,) for something we will unapologetically nerd out for... and it’s fun to watch these two do just that.

Not only has Bohannon given us a fun two-hander full of snappy banter about fandom and literary tastes, but she also illuminates the fears and hopes of these two young men who are dragging their feet on the path to inevitable adulthood as they literally shuffle through the line for the final Harry Potter book. This is a great selection for a college one act festival.
