THE FOLKS is absolutely a delightful first date. Absurd? Yes, but what first date isn't? This is a wonderful look at the voices we all have inside of our heads, how they can get the best of us and how to quiet them. The writing is spectacular, the details and banter had me smiling. This would be a wonderful production to see.

On a date, two's company, four's a crowd,but what are you going to do if three of them are in one person? Accommodate the situation if you like the person you're dating enough (even if she tackles you to prevent you leaving prematurely). Talk to the two intruders. Let 'em know their work has not gone unnoticed. Perhaps next time around it'll just be the two of you. Nicely done.

It's one thing to have voices in your head, it's quite another when your date hears you speaking with them. But it's really something when your date understands your dilemma. It was a pleasure spending this evening with Wendy and Scott. I hope there are many more evenings in their future.

MARK HARVEY LEVINE is a remarkable writer. He always comes up with fascinating plays. “The Folks (a ten minute play)” is no exception. There is so much truth in this splendidly written piece. I love the recognition of the reality of having parents who ‘get into your head’. Bravo!

A really fun 10 minute play. Quite the workout for an actress. Very funny and relatable!
