Storytelling has been an important part of my life ever since I was a little kid. In first grade I wrote a "novel" on the old bulky computer in our basement that was a single block of text that took up the space of two pages. I was enamored with the books I read and stories I wanted to one day tell. As soon as I had the opportunity to (in middle school), I participated in theatre as well, richening my life and discovering my lifelong passion and outlet to tell stories.
I don't think the reason I love storytelling is particularly unique: I think most writers tell stories and love to tell stories because they are ways for us to connect as human beings. They're ways for us to see another's perspective or for us to feel seen and valued. However, I seek to at least bring my unique perspective. I seek to write and tell the stories that only I can write. One of the biggest moments of growth in my writing journey was discovering that the plot of a story does not matter anywhere near as much as its execution. Something that only a writer can bring to life in their unique way.
Currently I only have one play that is polished enough to be publicly published, but my other drafts and other plays tend to focus on character interaction and growth. I love to explore what it means for us to be human, and to be human together on this strange planet.
