Artistic Statement

Theatre is a very slow art form. We need so many people, so many bodies, in mounting a production. A production is needed to finally complete the open circuitry of a script (which is itself incomplete without performance). The slowness is good, at times excruciating, but it only sweetens the experience. Writing a play is asking for someone to eventually come along and complicate your own thoughts, add their two-cents, misunderstand you. Yet I continue to write knowing that this discomfort is inevitable and on the horizon. It is my hope that my plays are used as vehicles for grace.
