I wear a small pin every day that is a bright yellow smiley face.
Once, a man allegedly jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide. In a note, he had written, "Headed to the bridge now. If one person smiles at me, I won't jump."
I wear my pin just in case someone needs it. And I write for the same reason.
With every piece, I am reaching out to someone, anyone, to say, "I've felt this too. I am here, also."
