Full-time writer and actor Fedna Jacquet was born in Boston to Haitian parents. She is a 2020-2022 National Black Theatre Playwright in Residence, 2019-2021 Huntington Theatre Playwriting Fellow, and a 2019 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Playwriting/Screenwriting. Written work for the screen includes Isaiah (ABFF/TVOne Screenplay Competition Finalist, Homebase (Juilliard/NYU Showcase)), Inheritance (2020 Tribeca Chanel Through Her Lens Finalist), Circus (2020 HollyShorts Quarterfinalist) and Going Home. She is also currently working on two pilots: Model Minority (a half hour dramedy centered around an Asian American male lead) and Pefeksyon (a half hour comedy centered around a Haitian American family). Written plays include Black Mother Lost Daughter (Commissioned by National Black Theatre), Pefeksyon (Playwright’s Realm Finalist, DVRF Finalist, Studio Tisch), Inheritance (Classical Theatre of Harlem Playwright's Playground, Studio Tisch), Civic Duty (Commissioned by Suny Purchase), Gurlfriend (The Fire This Time Festival, Eugene O'Neill Semifinalist) and Heroes (Developed as a Huntington Fellow). Fedna is currently recurring as an actor on City On A Hill (Showtime) and FBI: Most Wanted (CBS) She has appeared on The Equalizer, New Amsterdam, Law & Order SVU, The Blacklist, and many others.     The Toussaints are your typical American family. Or as typical as a middle class, Haitian, New England family can be. Maybe they aren’t typical at all. Long-buried secrets and frustrations come to light when they all gather to celebrate the eldest’s third degree from Harvard. They all are gathered, but is it for a celebration or something else? Something unspeakable?

    Heroes is a play set in 2005. Most of the scientific research focuses on outbreaks of coronaviruses and filoviruses, specifically SARS-CoV and Marburg.     Heroes is a play set in 2005. Most of the scientific research focuses on outbreaks of coronaviruses and filoviruses, specifically SARS-CoV and Marburg. The plot centers around American virologists who are tasked with the mapping of several bat pathogens. Each scientist is able to shed some light on to why they chose their field of study, which allows the play to dive into other important scientific and medical topics such as the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, childhood bacterial pneumonia, the taboo truths of women’s bodies post-birth, and the importance of proper biosecurity lab procedures.

    In order to follow their ailing father’s wishes, Inheritance follows three siblings as they travel from their comfortable lives in The States to their long abandoned childhood home in Haiti. Once there, they are drawn into a game of remembering the past that explodes into a deadly confrontation with the secrets they thought were long hidden in the ground. The spiritual land of Haiti becomes a fertile ground and...
    In order to follow their ailing father’s wishes, Inheritance follows three siblings as they travel from their comfortable lives in The States to their long abandoned childhood home in Haiti. Once there, they are drawn into a game of remembering the past that explodes into a deadly confrontation with the secrets they thought were long hidden in the ground. The spiritual land of Haiti becomes a fertile ground and living conduit to the wretched past as well as the ignorant present. We watch five characters fight to reach a future, but not all survive.

    A play about a mother who lost a daughter and is in the process of losing another one.
