Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mike was introduced to writing for stage and film as an extracurricular while attending McGill University in Montreal. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mike was introduced to writing for stage and film as an extracurricular while attending McGill University in Montreal. Since then he has traveled extensively and lived several years in Dublin, Ireland where he became acquainted with The Attic Studio, the city’s largest film and theater collaborative. It was with this group Mike received his first series of readings and professional productions.

In 2010 Mike moved back to New York and joined the management of Backyart, a multi-disciplinary arts collaborative based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. With this group he produced The New York Monologues, Antenora and Flaccid Penis Seeks Vaginal Dryness.

Mike earned his MFA in Playwriting at Trinity College’s Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art in 2013. He spent four years producing theatre on Broadway as The Foxboro Company's Director of Script Development and regularly teaches creative writing to teenagers.

In 2022 Mike earned a Ph.D. in Theatre Studies at the University of Hawaii, where he currently teaches playwriting.

Her nine-years-younger sister Chelsea, just out of college, forgoes pursuing a career to move in and take care of Marissa while she recovers. Tensions erupt when Marissa downloads Tinder and disappears into the night to meet someone that shares many of her dark views on life. In a misguided attempt at...
    Marissa, a New Jersey based painter, recently tried to kill herself by stepping in front of a garbage truck. Her nine-years-younger sister Chelsea, just out of college, forgoes pursuing a career to move in and take care of Marissa while she recovers. Tensions erupt when Marissa downloads Tinder and disappears into the night to meet someone that shares many of her dark views on life. In a misguided attempt at reconciliation, the sisters go on a double date, resulting in Marissa hooking up with Chelsea’s date. The ensuing fallout forces the two women to face long standing issues of family and depression, with no simple answers, but perhaps hope at finally being friends. In this play two sisters accidentally discover each other by stumbling through the mores of being defined by their romantic relationships.

His only friends are his sarcastic co-worker Herman and a ninety-two year old woman named Beth who he met during his mother's final days. He suddenly begins to have strange dreams involving a woman named Amy whom he becomes convinced is a real person who has the key to a better life. This all comes to a head when Beth's granddaughters arrive, having to make a difficult decision about Beth's health that affects Owen in more way than one in this surreal, fantastic, heartwarming dramatic comedy.
