Starting out with a light-hearted scene between a woman and a possible-hallucination, this play turns and keeps on delivering emotional gut punches. I loved the character of Emmy and the specificity of each of her interactions. Although the foreboding and sadness pushes in from all sides, Bohannon's beautiful characters keep us engaged all the way through the final devastating moments.

A wonderful play for three women that radiates a quirky, hilarious strangeness from its core. The absurdity of it pulled me in as it made me laugh, and then after it had me hooked, revealed a surprising inner darkness. A wonderful exploration of family, how we can become set in the ways we interact with each other, and what it takes for us to break out of that.

Such an engaging read - I'd love to see this in production! Besides being a twist on a fairy tale that's near and dear to my heart, the characters are so well-drawn and specific, and the humor has a touching humanity at the center of it. I never thought I'd fall in love with an anthropomorphic lamp!
