Artistic Statement

I thrive on what both fascinates and scares me. While I push for whimsy and acceptance of all that is silly, the worlds and characters I create don’t back down from the ugly sides of their collective existence and experiences. I want theatre to challenge, to entertain, invoke laughter and tears, to inspire, to startle, and console. I create (primarily) women/female characters who don’t care about the status quo. I believe (and hope) my scripts can be a playground of the imagination, to be explored by actors, directors, dramaturgy, set designers, and lighting designers alike.
