Leslie Slape is an award-winning journalist and professional storyteller who has recently turned to playwriting. Her first play, THE HARDER COURAGE, was a finalist at the 2018 Ashland New Plays Festival.

    A huntsman finds a firebird feather and picks it up against the advice of his talking horse, who says it's bad luck. The huntsman's master, the Tsar, then sends the huntsman on a series of impossible quests, including bringing the Tsar a beautiful (but unwilling) princess for a bride. Adapted from a Russian fairy tale. Written for a bakeoff challenge.
