  • Paul Braverman: 37 Origami Bees

Another funny short play from Busser. This piece manages to be laugh-out-loud funny while also highlighting how technology doesn't always make things easier. There are lots of opportunities for actors, directors and designers (especially the Sound Designer) to have fun representing the AI characters and bringing them to life. Super produce-able and a certain crowd favorite.

  • Paul Braverman: Half

What happens when you take one of the most successful horror movie franchises and intersect it with LA Law? You get "Half", an entertaining and fast-paced black comedy with an inevitable yet satisfying twist ending. Here's a wonderful short play from Busser that manages to be a little creepy and quite funny.

  • Paul Braverman: The Blank Mask

Here is a terrific, fast-paced short play that tips a cap to classic horror while planting itself firmly in "today". Teen angst and distraction quickly turns into a major status tilt with horrific consequences. Very enjoyable entry in the horror genre.

  • Paul Braverman: Here's The Thing

This is a terrific short horror play, one that works at multiple levels. The tension is there throughout, as two teens bond during a crisis. For me, the reveal was an unexpected kick to the head, and it was only then that I understood the wonderfully clever title.

  • Paul Braverman: ALICE

Creating chills in ten minutes isn't easy, but Cole gets your attention before the first word is spoken. We start quietly with a spooky doll sitting in a spooky attic. The tension is skillfully built and the finale pays off in the best tradition of horror. This would a blast to produce.

  • Paul Braverman: Who's Afraid of Bram Stoker?

A terrific short play that manages to be both subtle and pointed. The sharp dialogue helps bring the two relatable characters into focus as we're drawn into their world. In the end, we're reminded that candor and vulnerability can be much scarier than a costume.

  • Paul Braverman: You Got it Right!

Disarming variation on the highway ghost, with an evocative "beat" vibe. The characters' palpable anxiety is contagious. This real/unreal road trip gone sideways will stick with you.

  • Paul Braverman: Marley's Ghost

This short play is a wonderful intersection of charming and spooky. In ten minutes, we see and feel what happens when we put our own needs above those of others, including the ones we love. Williams gives us a highly entertaining morality tale about empathy. Another winner from PMW.

  • Paul Braverman: Fat Men in Yoga Pants

This is not just "another one-person play". I saw this at the Valdez Theatre Conference, where it was a true highlight. Ben is a superb writer, and a powerful actor who controls every inch of the stage. The play is filled with insights, both humorous and touching, driven by emotional honesty. I enjoyed every minute of it.

  • Paul Braverman: God Sighs

The biblical creation story has been told many times, but seldom is it as funny as this one. Herbert has managed to imbue each of these iconic characters with a unique voice and characteristics that are quite human. The result is both hilarious and thought-provoking. This play was very well received at the Valdez Theatre Conference, and is ready for a full production. The actors and audience will have a blast!
