  • The Age of Understanding or, The Character of Dad
    14 Apr. 2020
This power play - which is more or less mostly a monologue - shows the insecurities of how a new dad feels as he babysits their baby. It's a very moving interacting between father and baby that arcs to a self-revelation. I highly recommend this play.
  • Accommodations
    13 Apr. 2020
This three-hander tackles the complicated issue of moving, with all the memories and secrets that accompany it. As the author beautifully states, "every time you even touch something, there’s a piece of the past to fall into." Three generations of women struggle with their personal conflicts against the backdrop of memories being taken away in form of a house.
  • Ask Me Anything
    11 Apr. 2020
This hilarious play takes off like a rocket from the start. The use of the repeated "you signed a waiver" never gets old. I highly recommend. this comic gem.
  • Animals Commit Suicide
    11 Apr. 2020
The author uses humor to carry a difficult subject matter - HIV. He takes us into the world of gay sex and fear in a way I haven't seen before. Because of the snappy dialogue, the heavy themes don't weigh down the play, but keep it moving along. There's a bit of the voyeur feeling as I was reading the play - that's a compliment.
  • 80 Percent
    11 Apr. 2020
80 percent covers a lot of ground in its brevity. The play insanely gives an emotional punch, and uses self-identity and humor to explore the theme of "who am I?"
    I highly recommend it
  • Best Interests
    15 Sep. 2015
Best Interests is a subtle and charming look at a critical juncture in a mother/son relationship. I admire it's light handedness in a fraught situation....exactly what I look for in a short play.
