Ish Klein wrote the plays The Orchids, Drummer 41, "In A Word, Faust", The Dee Men and The Restless Leg. Ish is the author of the full-length poetry books The New Sun Time, Consolation and Mirth, Moving Day and Union! as well as the chapbook entitled "Every Animal Is Your Mother".
Her poems and plays have appeared on the Poetry Foundation website, in literary magazines and in international journals like Gare du Nord, Versal and The Cambridge Literary Review.
She is a founding member of the Connecticut River Valley Poets Theater. Presently, she is developing a Michigan-based poets theatre called Anthology Poets Theatre (or APT); which is led by neurodiverse artists of which she is one. She attended Columbia University and the Iowa Writers Workshop. She lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan and is married to the poet Greg Purcell.

After all this isn't the living version of the writer it's the dead version. This is a play set in a necropolis run by deceased writers and it's best not to apply human traits to them unless you can't help it, if you are, for instance, a human

    In some ways it is similiar to the Goethe Faust but the main difference is that the characters can only say one word per interval (with one exception).
