Christin’s incomparable strength as a playwright is her immense compassion and understanding of her characters. In Stoop Pigeons, each character immediately feels like a real person and instead of sentimentalizing their struggles, Christin consistently amplifies the complexities of gentrification. And while many of these themes are present in theater, TV & film right now, no writer does a better job at truly allowing you to see the individual faces behind the idea. Christin never lets you forget that the people you pass on the street while you shop at that new Whole Foods are people being erased from their neighborhoods.
