Jesus I. Valles-Morales is a Mexican@ storyteller, performer, and a high school educator based in Austin, Texas. He’s also a drunk desmadre. He was most recently in Teatro Vivo’s El Nogalar as Lopez. Jesus was featured in Emma When You Need Her at The Vortex, and previously worked with Teatro Vivo as an actor in Aye, No! and Raul Garza’s EL for the Austin New Latino Play Festival. Jesus is also a spoken-word artist and has been featured in FAT: The Play and Friends and is a regular contributor for Greetings From Queer Mountain! where he tells stories about his questionable life choices. Jesus has been actively involved in immigration rights and reform activism in the Southwest for the past 8 years, and previously worked with Domestic Workers United and the Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles. As an ally, Jesus fucks up all the time and encourages being checked for the ways in he is complicit in a lot of messed up shit. He celebrates joterias and remembers all of the locas, cabareteras, and sinverguenzas from his home of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and El Paso, Texas, the border cities that have inspired him to live his truest life
