Artistic Statement

Oh Gosh. I like to walk into radioactive minefields in a clown car and sneak up on systemic injustice through a strange cocktail of the absurd and the personal. Greatly influenced by work as a musician, I tend to think of writing in terms of rhythm and counterpoint. Something feels right and whole / complete or out of phase and missing something. I tend to be guided by curiosity and intuition and always try to let "my" characters speak for themselves and build a narrative around them and their greatest desires. And always I try to write for great interpreters. To ask others to reach. And lastly, my plays are not meant to be easy and I like to inspire those great interpreters to reach just an inch outside of their comfort zone.

Comedy of oppression.
