Hayley Haggerty

Hayley Haggerty holds a B.A in Theatre and Creative Writing from Roger Williams University. Her plays include The Pirate, the Newsboy, the Witch and the Princess, a play for young audiences, In A Flash, Innumerable, and more. She is extremely interested in magical realism, and writing plays where the boundaries between the real world and fantasy can be blurred. When not writing, she enjoys cooking, hiking, baking, video games and cats. She was a finalist for the 2020 KCACTF Reigion 1 Gary Garrison National Ten-Minute Play Award, and has been a previous recipient of the Connecticut Shoreline Arts Association Creative Writing Award, as well as participating in the 2014 Young Playwrights Inc. Urban Retreat.

A high school reunion, five years later. When vines show up and start killing the students, Mads, Emily and Steven suspect that someone's hanging onto old memories and can't let go of the past. When a storm hits and Nora and her friends find themselves stuck in the forest, they must find out if the statue is causing everything to go...

TEN MINUTE: June 29th, 1613. Shakespeare's Globe Theater is burning down during a performance of Henry VIII. Two audience members unite as they try to escape being burnt to a crisp. During their journey, they discover an attraction toward each other.

Originally premiered at Roger Williams University's Three Hour Playwriting Festival in May 2019.

PIRATE was first performed on March 6 & 7, 2019 at Roger Williams University as the inaugural senior playwriting thesis project.
