Kaushik Mukerjee is a writer and musician based in the Washington DC metro area. Inspired as a teenager by Bertolt Brecht, Eugene Ionesco, and Harold Pinter, Kaushik began writing and producing plays and skits. His absurd comedy "Smith's Gone Mad" was selected for production by the Pittsburgh New Works Festival in the early 1990s. Kaushik's writing addresses both personal and political themes with a combination of comedy, melancholy, realism, and absurdity.

Inspired by Eugene Ionesco, Smith's Gone Mad is an absurd comedy about what happens when an ordinary man runs into an oddball assortment of characters who may or may not be insane.
