My work centers on the effects of scale, post-loss transformation, and Black temporality. I love to see how both large, epic work and the intimacy that comes from focusing on minutiae affect the theatrical experience. In that zooming in and out of focus, I explore both my Black Woman-ness and the experience of rebuilding after loss. My plays examine that post-loss—the place that remains after war ends, the place built from scorched earth, the place of infinite possibility.
