Plays

  • TB SHEETS
TB SHEETS follows a group of mystics in a sanatorium who, alongside their terminal diagnoses, build a spaceship to explore the outer limits of their physical bodies and the solar system. The play meditates upon and celebrates the power of the fragile & afflicted body, and the multiplicity & fluidity of identity.
  • Mammoth
Composed in gulfs of glacial silence, two mammoth tusk-hunters navigate modern romance in a landscape irrevocably altered by their presence. MAMMOTH is a poetic and comedic “paleo-fable” that meditates upon why we destroy what we love and, once vanished, what compels us to revive what we’ve lost.
  • Poshlost Saudades! (PS!)
On the eve of the closing of a once-great ballet school: a dancer yearns for the past, a young girl celebrates her Quinceanera, songs are sung, a doctor tells misty-eyed tales of an old lover, a cat dies, a videographer with hidden motives captures it all. Suddenly, a disruption: a young man arrives, escaped from jail, to claim his sister as his one true love. The guests of the celebration wax and wane their...

Suddenly, a disruption: a young man arrives, escaped from jail, to claim his sister as his one true love. The guests of the celebration wax and wane their love for each other – all of which are mutually exclusive – as they attempt to recreate Sergei Prokofiev’s bombastic ballet Romeo & Juliet, re-imagined as a Dixie-Land jazz ballad.

This evening-length performance works entertains a trip through the medical industry in modern day America with explosive dance, music, text and juice smoothies.
  • Nightmares: A Demonstration of the Sublime
"Nightmares" situates itself between terror and comedy (the sublime), beneath the gaze of Henry Fuseli's iconic painting, and in the midst of an enveloping soundscape to plumb the extremities of our contemporary condition and posit the question: are we still capable of being overwhelmed? Initiating at the birth of the modern sublime-the summer of 1816, when literary heavyweights Lord Byron, Mary...

Initiating at the birth of the modern sublime-the summer of 1816, when literary heavyweights Lord Byron, Mary Shelley, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and Jon Polidori convened on Lake Geneva to create their literary shapeshifters, namely Frankenstein's Monster and the Vampyr-the performance takes on the overwhelming anxiety of confronting nature and ourselves in the 21st century, an era that seemingly reaches for zeros.

Groucho takes on the role of Franklin Ruse-velt to bring America back to greatness through unwarranted imperialism and economic inflation; Harpo & Chico join as The Departments of the Interior...

  • Bournijka the Boxer
A playwright attempts to recover his family history, parsing the mythology from the truth. • Prelude; Shores of Lake Michigan
