John Britton Buttrill is a Georgia-born playwright currently living and writing in New York City. His work has been presented at ESPA/Primary Stages, Naked Angels, The Flea, Crashbox Theater, The Skeleton Rep, HERE Arts Center, Fringe NYC, Marrow's Edge, Taksu Theatre, Theatre Uzume, Pinch n' Ouch Theatre, Midtown International Theatre Festival, The Essential Theatre Festival, and Atlanta Fringe Festival. He was the recipient of the E.B. Osbourne Artists Fellowship from the Purnell School, The New South Young Playwrights Award, was the first recipient of the Jon Robin Baitz Writer's Residency, a Semi-Finalist for the Lila Acheson Wallace Fellowship at the Juilliard School, a Tennessee Williams Scholar at the Sewanee Writer's Conference and he was Short-Listed for the 2017 Nick Darke Award. Britton is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and holds an MFA in Playwriting from The New School for Drama.
