I write to disrupt the Dominant Culture.
I write to subvert stereotypes of my people.
I write to undermine the narrow-visioned narratives of my communities.
I write South Asian-ness.
I write Arab-ness.
I write Muslim-ness.
I write Christian-ness.
I write about enculturation, immigration, identity.
I write drama.
I write comedy.
I write in between the two.
I write about America.
I write about over there.
I write Brown plays and White plays.
I write about whatever that even means.
I write musicals.
I write about what it means to be human when the world isn't interested in listening to you.
I write because I'm stubborn.
