My God! This is the kind of play you need to sit back and take a breath when you've finished. "Qualities of Starlight" take a long hard look at the complicated issues of addiction and human relationships. Taking those very real ideas and mixing them in with the complex idea of the science surrounding the universe, truly brilliant! I'm honestly not surprised its had the accolades that it has. If you're looking for a production to draw an audience in and embrace powerful thoughts like " the universe isn’t passive or random. There’s always causality." this is for you!

Qualities of Starlight is a dark--at times brutally so--comedy on drug addiction that is ultimately hopeful. The characters' voices are clear and distinct. I look forward to reading the rest of Dean's Attapulgus collection, and I hope to see a new production of this relevant piece soon.

A brilliant piece about the rich complexities of life and family as we make our share our space in the universe, a universe that has much to teach us. Thought provoking and well done!
