Maia, a woman in ancient Greece, has been the creator of the famous sculptures attributed to her husband, Anonymous, since their marriage. Her two friends are also outstanding in fields totally dominated by men, but have kept it secret. Maia arranges to get her husband out of the way before he wrecks a sculpture of The Discobolous, which Odysseus expects to receive the next day for his birthday. Kyamites, the Greek god of beans, comes to earth to fool around. At first he's attracted to the nude statue of The Discobolous, but Maia manages to distract him by introducing him to Anonymous. The two men are smitten, and get out of Maia's way so she can finish the sculpture for Odysseus. The women reveal their secrets to each other. At the birthday party, Maia speaks her own truth and speaks up for women, Zeus strikes her dead. Her spirit rises (in true Greek drama fashion) to urge women everywhere to stand strong and to predict that a big change is coming.
