It's been several weeks since Astrid and Evelyn have heard a word from their youngest sister, September. So when they finally get an e-mail from her, with a post script indicating that she is pregnant, they decide to fly across the country to see what exactly is going on with her. But September is a spoken word poet, and when she refuses to talk about the circumstances of her life, her sisters are left to try to extract meaning from her poetry.
September & Her Sisters is a story about language and communication, sisterhood and motherhood, and whether or not the bonds of family will stretch across the length of a country.
