HOYT has lost everything. With no job, no money, and no hope that things are going to get better,
he’s given up and is sitting alone in his apartment cleaning a revolver. He’s going to kill himself.

But the bell rings. And there stands DREW, who’s going door-to-door proselytizing
for the Assembly of Hubristic Evangelicals. “If you’ll give me just a few minutes,
I’ll tell you how you can experience the one true god.”

Hoyt steps aside and invites Drew in. Which amazes Drew. No one’s ever let him in before.

As the two of them talk, they both find themselves deeply challenged, though in vastly different ways.
They are each, in their own fashion, in crisis. And finding each other, at this particular point in their lives, will prove pivotal for both of them.
