DRAGON RIDER VISITS VERMONT

Chrissy and Alex are on their honeymoon in the gorgeous green hills of Vermont. Everything seems to be blue skies and maple syrup for the young married couple as they hike through the woods…except for one tiny problem. They have to pretend to be normal humans. Which means no magic. At all. Will these two fantasy heroines find a way to survive reality, or is their relationship heading for a dark turn in the woods...

This is a charming play that starts as one in a pair of newlyweds having cold feet, and morphs into something fantastical and wonderful! Osborne plays a neat trick in grounding the fantasy elements in real problems and emotions, and it creates a unique experience for the audience.

It's rare to find fantasy stageplays - even rarer if they have dragons...and a story with a heart of gold. Recently I led a sci-fi and fantasy short playwriting seminar for my local writers group. This was one of the plays we analyzed. Good stuff!
