Oh the truth can hurt. That's nothing new. But here the truth means something far different and one of these two lovers is left flummoxed by the demand for truth.
This is clever stuff, and I admire the playwright for not defining the sex or sexuality of each lover, leaving the production so many variables.

Some plays just demand to be read aloud - and this was one of them! This easily staged ten-minute play is loaded with quick and clever dialogue that makes you laugh as often as it makes you think! It has a fun reversal that made me chuckle, but ended on a lovely, genuine note that gave me the warm fuzzies! I am glad these silly soulmates will get to live their "truth!"

What's in a word? It shouldn't be hard to define something as basic as "true," but in this dance of words deftly crafted by David Beardsley, these two lovers are finding out that just one word and what it means to each of them can bring out a whole new perspective on their relationship... such as it is or could be.
