Warning: genius writing and quirky plot ahead! Carnes takes the 10-minute play writing prompt "there's a bomb in the room and you have ten minutes to diffuse it or escape the explosion" to a whole new level. Who ever thought you could unleash such fury on an ex, let alone, buy such weapons of revenge on the internet? A fun romp into the bizarre zone.

While I loved the play's dark (and slightly gross!) humor, I also resonated with the undercurrent of desperation in Marty's dissuasion and repair attempts, and Cheryl's need for someone to just sit in her emotions with her for a while (as opposed to 'solving' them!). This is a straightforward and smart depiction of a friendship, as well as a twisty (and again - gross!) revenge story. Carnes ends with what is essentially a grounding exercise, reminding us all that insecurities and griefs may abound but good things - and good friends! - persist.

Cheryl has gone off the deep end in this frantic revenge tale, hilariously told at a breakneck pace. She wants her ex to suffer and has gone out of her way to use some very unorthodox methods to make him squirm. Hysterical and rollicking dialogue throughout, this comedic tour-de-force has a really great role for an actress to sink her teeth into. Really fun! Thumbs up!
