GODDESS OF THE HUNT features sharp, witty dialogue and wickedly ingenious plot twists that take what first seems to be a breezy comedy of manners to darker and darker places. The characters are expertly drawn, and DeVita also provides entertainingly detailed local color and some barbed and poignant commentary on growing older in the gay community.

This play as a great vehicle for actors - especially those who have a sense of play and humor and enough gravitas to ballast the brash comedic twists and turns of the script. It flows, it plays, and it is a joy to work on. I can recommend - with full authority* - that Diana Black-White is indeed a great role for a woman. A complicated protagonist, she is purposeful, playful, poisonous. Diana won't let herself be played on the surface - the actor must dig in, be bold, and enjoy.

Another brilliantly crafted original comedy by DeVita, presented as part of the Fresh Fruit Festival at Wild Project. Crackling smart writing packed tightly into a raunchy theatrical jockstrap soaked in cocktails, deception, gluttony, perversion, and murder. Never one to take the path of least resistance and always one prepared to challenge his audiences, DeVita gifts us with fully developed, multifaceted, three-dimensional characters (including the minor ones) spilling over with heart and humor, and then strings it all together with a delightfully sweet love story. Exceptional work. Highly recommended.
