Florence is a firefly who wants her life adventure to begin, which she thinks means mating. But only male fireflies can fly, so females have to wait for a male to come to them. But no mate has been forthcoming! Fed up, she leaps off her leaf to the forest floor below. On her journey she meets many creatures of the forest (a lonely cricket, a mooning moth, a skunk with a kooky streak, frat-boy cicadas, and an Eagles-quoting eagle among others), and along the way learns that maybe mating isn't the only way to have a great life adventure. A one act for adults with a children's theater aesthetic.
